I just purchased a Canon Powershot G11 digital camera. It takes great photographs but I haven’t become a better photographer. I also recently acquired a beautiful handcrafted wooden pen with a Hauser rollerball. It is a pleasure to write with but sadly, it has not made me a better writer. Even though I am not any closer to winning awards using either of these items, I receive continuous enjoyment because each is under constant use.
How much enjoyment do you receive from opening a bottle of wine? How long does it last? (Not the wine. The act of opening it.)

During the last month, I have consumed more than my fair share of green wine, or Vinho Verde as it is called here in Portugal. You’d be hard pressed to find a greener wine than a Vinho Verde (unless you’ve sampled a Cabernet Sauvignon from the North Fork of Long Island — inside joke and topic for another post).
