Holiday Cheer with Rosato Vermouth

When Martini “Rosato” Vermouth debuted in America, we were early promoters. How could we not be? As founders of the Rosé Society whose mission is to promote the appreciation of “pink” wines and aficionados of Vermouth, this wine was made with us in mind. Blended from red and white wines with  flavors of pomegranate, raspberry, cinnamon and lemon, we deemed “Rosato” the quintessentially summercentric aperitif. However, why limit our consumption of this Vermouth to the warmer months? When we discovered this cocktail from British domestic goddess Nigella Larson, we though it perfect for holiday entertaining and worth sharing. The color alone is festive. In addition, the drink strikes a balance between the sweetness of the fruit and the acidity of the bitter components in the Vermouth. A bonus benefit is the low alcohol content of the drink – your guests will be lubricated but not intoxicated. Fill your wassail bowl with this libation and enjoy the season!

Pomegranate Christmas Cocktail by Nigella Lawson
Ingredients
60ml/2fl oz pink vermouth
30ml/1fl oz pomegranate juice
30ml/1fl oz ginger ale
ice, to serve
Preparation method
1. Stir together the vermouth and pomegranate juice. Pour into martini
glasses, adding an ice cube if you wish.
2. Top up with ginger ale and serve.
